Message from Co-Founder and Chair of Dignitas International
I would like to thank the athletes participating in Tri4Dignity for their support of Dignitas International.
We are an international medical humanitarian organization working with communities to dramatically increase access to life-saving treatment and prevention in areas overwhelmed by AIDS. We provide thousands of people each month in Zomba District, Malawi, with essential medical care, HIV testing, prevention of mother-to-child transmission, and prevention education.
Your support will most certainly allow us to carry on our life-saving work in Malawi. It will also ensure that Dignitas International is able to continue the refinement of a community-based care model that will be used in other parts of the world overwhelmed by AIDS.
As health care workers continue to die from AIDS, and as millions more people become in need of treatment, the only viable means to deliver effective treatment and prevention will be through community-based care. It is a vital response that provides hope to millions of people affected by HIV/AIDS across the globe.
AIDS will only be beaten if all sectors of society work together. Your participation in the Tri4Dignity is an example of communities coming together to respond to AIDS. We truly appreciate your leadership.
Good Luck!
